  • A CFD calculation can be performed in advance in consultation with the client and / or the fire department.

    • Insights into air flow, CO control and smoke and heat control can be obtained with a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation. A
    • three-dimensional model of the parking garage is set up to perform this simulation.
    • The technical installations and the control strategies are then processed in the model using mathematical formulas.
    • The entrances to the parking garage are modeled as openings or closed areas in reality. After the model is equipped with the corresponding physical parameters, the simulation is started.
    • The simulation solves the flow and energy balances per time step, using a finite volume method. The simulation results can be analyzed per time step for different quantities.
    • The results are presented in a report in accordance with the analysis description given in the draft NBN S 21-208-2 practice guideline, part B, 2014 edition, associated with the relevant location.
    • Such simulations can be used to support the design process, control of the design and can demonstrate equivalence.
    • By performing the simulation, the system can be tested at an early stage of the design process.
    • The presentation of the results increases the quality of the communication between the various parties involved.
    • Where necessary, the system or the building design can be adjusted so that such simulations can be used to support the design process, including design control which can demonstrate equivalence.
